Prof. Lisa Sennerby Forsse

Lisa Sennerby Forsse is the Vice-Chancellor of SLU, the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, since 2006. She has a PhD in Plant structure and function at Stockholm University. She obtained her ass.prof. (docent) in Plantation forestry and held an adjunct prof.ship at SLU while working as Director of Research at the Swedish Forestry Research Institute (SkogForsk). She was Director of the Department for Natural Resources at the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and during 2001-2006 she was the Secretary General of the Swedish Research Council for Environment, Agricultural Sciences and Spatial Planning (Formas).

Dr. Sennerby Forsse’s academic fields cover a range of forest- and agricultural related issues as well as environmental aspects of different types of land use. She has served on numerous international and national committies and boards. In 2001, she was awarded “The Golden Twig” by the Swedish Forestry Association in recognition of her achievements, and in 2010 received the Royal Gold Medal from the King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf for Outstanding Achievements in Agricultural Sciences.
